MUSEUM OF SCIENCE AND INDUSTRY

The Museum of Science and Industry is one of the finest and most extraordinary museums in the world. Its collections and exhibits are remarkable.

Event Network recently re-envisioned retail at MSI, with a space designed to captivate and engage visitors of all ages. Located within MSI’s lobby, the main store is ideally situated to attract guests as they enter or exit the building. With an open ceiling, we have the unique opportunity to provide an aerial view of the store as guests are descending the escalator. We wanted a statement piece, something that would draw people in and entice them to shop, while representing energy, movement, and ingenuity. The large rotating gear fixture does just that. It helps set the tone for the rest of the store, where unexpected surprises await. We’ve created more visual interest through different textures, colors, and graphics that connect to defined areas or shop in shop concepts that support MSI’s iconic exhibits. Demo stations are set up throughout the store for guests to interact and play with different items. With a focus on STEM, the store environment encourages guests to engage with our team and product.

In addition to the vibrant flagship store, we operate several satellite retail locations throughout the Museum to support select exhibits on view, as well as an annual holiday store that coincides with MSI’s Christmas Around the World and Holidays of Light tree tradition.

Brand and artist collaborations include a co-branded MSI apparel line from Patagonia, and products designed by local Chicago artists.
